Rob studied astrophysics at Leiden University. He designed detectors for nuclear physics experiments in Amsterdam and in the US before moving to X-ray astrophysics in Utrecht. After teaching high-school Mathematics, Rob moved to astroparticle physics as liaison officer in an ERANET at Nikhef. When Nikhef was selected as EGI's local host, Rob jumped from "I can lend a hand" to full time proposal activities in just two months. Rob is at EGI from day one.
Roles

Responsible to the EGI.eu director for the operation of the EGI.eu office organisation.

Organises the personnel, financial and administrative activities in the EGI.eu office.

Facilitates other EGI.eu officers in their work.

Facilitates the EGI Council (meetings etc.).

Liaison officer with the EU for the EGI projects.
