EGI article on the Letter of Intent
I was pleased to be invited to produce an article for the latest issue of the CLARIN project newsletter. EGI is working with CLARIN, and also DARIAH, to form a VRC once the two ESFRI projects achieve ERIC status. The article describes the recently signed Letter of Intent that was signed between EGI.eu and these two large ESFRI projects that cover Arts, Humanities and Social Science between them. I am pleased to say that the letter was signed shortly after the article was written.
The motivation for the letter was that both projects want to work together to represent a Virtual Research Community for the Humanities in partnership with EGI under the VRC model described elsewhere. Specifically, CLARIN - Common Language Resources and Infrastructure - is assembling an infrastructure itself of tools and resources to study the multiple roles that language plays. Integrating these resources with those of EGI will broaden the scope and accessibility of these resources across Europe and beyond.
