Resource providers

The European Grid Infrastructure (EGI) is a federation of cooperating resource infrastructure providers, working together to provide the leading edge computing services needed by European researchers. Together with the research communities that benefit from the federated infrastructure, resource providers are EGI’s main stakeholders. These are responsible for the maintenance, coordination and integration of the resource centres that make up their individual e-infrastructures. They also provide resources and services to their geographical- (e.g. national or regional for NGIs) or domain-specific (e.g. life sciences for EIROs) research communities. [Glossary].

EGI resource infrastructure providers

  • Core resource providers: National Grid Initiatives (NGIs) and European Intergovernmental Research Organisations (EIROs) [go to list] [map overview]

  • Integrated resource providers: international organisations who contribute resources and collaborate through Memoranda of Understanding [go to list]

  • Collaborating resource providers: other international organization who have strong collaborations with EGI [go to list]
