Last week for early bird registration to the EGI Technical Forum

Early bird registration for the EGI Technical Forum 2012 will close on 10 August.

This year’s EGI Technical Forum takes place in Prague in the Czech Republic. It will focus on developing the European Grid Infrastructure (EGI) to support Open Science in the digital European Research Area. Held from 17 to 21 September at the Clarion Congress Hotel, the Forum will be hosted by EGI.eu in partnership with CESNET, the consortium of Czech universities and the Czech Academy of Sciences. Event sessions will reflect on the considerable progress made by the EGI collaboration so far and will look forward to the challenges of public availability, reusability and transparency of scientific methods and data in Open Science.

With over 130 Contributions, the programme for this Technical Forum is a comprehensive one that is set to advance important issues for grid managers, system administrators and users, ranging from sustainability, to Federated Clouds, system security and much more. But it won’t be all work without play! There will be cocktails on Tuesday evening and a conference dinner on Thursday night. The conference dinner will be held at the historic BÅ™evnov monastery – founded in 993, this is the first monastery in the Czech Republic.

Last year’s EGI Technical Forum held in France saw the best attendance at any EGI event thus far; we welcomed 655 participants and the sessions included 132 contributions. Don’t miss your chance to participate in this year’s Forum, held at the lively cultural city of Prague. Register before the 10 August to take advantage of the discounted early bird price!
