Past events

The EGI community gathers at one or two EGI flagship events per year. Here is an overview of our past events.

The EGI Conference 2017 took place in Catania, Italy, from 9 to 12 of May, and was organised in partnership with the INDIGO Summit.

The Digital Infrastructures for Research 2016 was co-organised by EGI, EUDAT, GÉANT, OpenAIRE and RDA Europe, and hosted by AGH Cyfronet.

The EGI Conference 2016 was hosted by the EGI Foundation and was held at the foundation’s headquarters in Amsterdam, Netherlands, between 6-8 April 2016.

The EGI Community Forum 2015 was held in Bari, Italy between 10-13 November, 2015. The event was organised by the EGI Foundation in collaboration with INFN-Bari, the local hosts. The theme was Building Next Generation e-Infrastructures through Communities.

The EGI Conference 2015 was held in Lisbon, Portugal between 18-22 May, 2015. The event was hosted by the EGI Foundation and IBERGRID, a partnership between the Portuguese National Distributed Computing Infrastructure (INCD) and the Spanish National Grid Initiative. (Photostream, Video, Programme)

The EGI Technical Forum 2013 was held at the Meliá Castilla Convention Centre in Madrid, Spain between 16-20 September 2013. The event was organised by the EGI Foundation and IBERGRID, a partnership between the Spanish and Portuguese National Grid Initiatives that represents the Iberian Peninsula in EGI. The EGI Technical Forum 2012 took place at the Clarion Congress Hotel in Prague, Czech Republic between 17-21 September 2012. The event was hosted by the EGI Foundation in partnership with CESNET, the consortium of Czech universities and the Czech Academy of Sciences that represents the country in the EGI Council.

The EGI Community Forum 2012 was held at the Leibniz Supercomputing Centre (LRZ) in Garching near Munich, Germany between 26-30 March 2012. The event was hosted by the EGI Foundation in partnership with the Munich Network Management, a consortium of four German research institutions. (Photo stream, programme,proceedings)

The EGI Technical Forum 2011 took place in Lyon, France between 19-23 September 2011, and was hosted by the EGI Foundation , the Computing Centre of the National Institute of Nuclear Physics and Particle Physics (CC-IN2P3) and France Grilles. (abstracts and presentations)

The EGI User Forum 2011 took place in Vilnius, Lithuania between 11-14 April 2011, in conjunction with the EMI Technical Conference ans organised in partnership with LitGrid and BAIP. (abstracts and presentations)

The EGI Technical Forum 2010 was held in Amsterdam between 14-17 September 2010 in partnership with the BiG Grid (Dutch NGI) project. The forum was the first major event within the EGI community and brought together European distributed computing projects and their collaborators in academia and businesses, from around Europe and around the world.
