A tool for rigid body fitting of atomic structures into cryo-EM density maps

PowerFit is a software designed to fit atomic structures into cryo-EM density maps, using an exhaustive 6-dimensional cross-correlation search. PowerFit distinguish itself from other fitting software by its higher speed and sensitivity. It includes reliability measures and can determine fitting success rates as function of cryo-EM map resolution and subunit sizes.

Besides the application software, the PowerFit web portal provides automated pre- and post-processing, computing resources, storage and job scheduling and monitoring for running the application. This means that the researcher does not have to worry about application porting nor about procuring the necessary compute infrastructure.

PowerFit is free to use but requires registration (which is also free).

PowerFit & EGI

PowerFit has been implemented as a web portal, harvesting both local CPU resources and GPGPU-accelerated EGI High-Throughput Compute resources. The use of a web portals eliminates the need for any local software installation and guarantees a robust user-experience through a reliable framework.
