EGI at the 5th Eastern Partnership E-infrastructure Conference

About the Conference

Under the theme “Building Connections”, a 5th Eastern Partnership E‑infrastructures Conference took place on the 29 and 28 of September 2022, in Baku, Azerbaijan. 30 speakers from 15 countries have presented a series of engaging talks on innovative projects during the event.

The Eastern Partnership Economic Cooperation (EaPEC) conferences provide a forum for policy, research collaboration, and community building in e-infrastructures between the Eastern Partnership region and the EU member states.

EGI's engagement plan with the Eastern Partnership region

For EGI, it was a unique opportunity to engage with delegates from scientific institutions from Azerbaijan and the EaPConnect member countries and extend already initiated discussions about possible new collaborations.

During the slot dedicated to “ICT innovation: IoT, AI and automation“, the status of the EGI International collaboration and its engagement plan with the Eastern Partnership region has been presented by Gianni Dalla Torre with the talk “Fuelling open science with a pan-European cloud infrastructure federation.”

All the presentations are accessible from the conference website, and the session recording is available on the GÉANT YouTube channel.

Collaboration projects

The conferences are organised by the EaPConnect project, which is funded by the European Union within the EU4Digital initiative under Grant Agreement number ENI/2019/407-452. EU4Digital promotes key digital economy and society areas in line with EU norms and practices.
