EGI CSIRT gets certified again

EGI CSIRT, the Computer Security Incident Response Team, is responsible for running Security Coordination on behalf of the EGI Federation. Security Coordination is critical in a federated environment, where incidents are often not isolated and can affect several service providers. A coordinated response is essential to minimise the impact of incidents and vulnerabilities.

Therefore, CSIRT coordinates operational security activities within the EGI Infrastructure to deliver a secure and stable infrastructure, giving scientists and researchers the protection and confidence they require to safely and effectively carry out their research.

Because of its commitment and contribution to the community, EGI CSIRT participates in the Trusted Introducer Service, the system for registering and accrediting CSIRTS, as one of its certified Security Teams. Trusted Introducer is a service created and maintained by GEANT’s TF-CSIRT; it forms the trusted backbone of infrastructure services and serves as a clearinghouse for all security and incident response teams.

EGI CSIRT has been listed in the registry of Trusted Introducer since 2009! EGI CSIRT received its first accreditation in 2012 and has been certified since 2014.
