EGI signs SLA with ERIES

Advancing frontier knowledge in structural, seismic, wind and geotechnical engineering

EGI is supporting the Earthquake Engineering Community and other hazard mitigation disciplines by signing a Service Level Agreement (SLA) with the ERIES project.

About ERIES

The ERIES project aims at providing transnational access (TA) to advanced research infrastructures in the fields of structural, seismic, wind and geotechnical engineering. This project provides access to leading experimental facilities that permit users to advance frontier knowledge and conduct curiosity-driven research towards the reduction of losses and disruption due to natural hazards related to seismic, wind and geotechnical hazards. The development of innovative solutions to address them will contribute to a greener and more sustainable society.

The consortium is, for the matters dealt with in this Agreement represented by the Structures Laboratory of the University of Patras, Greece.

EGI Services included in the SLA

The SLA encompassess Cloud Compute and Check-in . The services are supported by additional services provided by EGI Foundation such as Accounting and Service Monitoring.

Check-in offers authentication through a wide variety of Identity Providers Identity Provider that users in the ERIES community can use to gain access to a wide range of EGI services without any hassle.

With Cloud Compute, ERIES will be able to deploy and scale virtual machines on-demand. This means the project will have guaranteed access to computational resources in a secure and isolated environment. Plus, with open API access, the project can enjoy all the benefits of virtualisation without the overhead of managing physical servers.
