EGI2026 Early Bird Registration is now open! Every year, the EGI conference brings together scientists, service providers, technical experts, policy makers, and early-career researchers to present their work, join workshops and trainings, participate in project meetings, and overall to experience the pleasure of meeting each other in person (again).
This year, the conference brings us to lovely Ghent in Belgium, where we will take over the historic 13th-century ‘Bijloke’. As Ghent is also the hometown of yours truly, you can count on many updates to come about this wonderful city!
While our programme committee is very busy with reviewing the contributions proposed by our community, you can already catch a first view of the conference timetable here. TLDR: the official conference opening will take place Tuesday late afternoon, immediately followed by a networking reception and the opening of the exhibition. Wednesday and Thursday are full conference days, with the conference dinner taking place on Wednesday evening in the Oude Vismijn. Monday (afternoon), Tuesday (all day), Thursday (late afternoon) and Friday (morning) are reserved for project meetings and workshops. Some trainings will be publicly accessible – keep an eye on our training programme to find out which ones you can register for.
As always, we will also ensure you get the chance to discover this amazing city through our social programme (look for the add-ons on the registration pages): so far, city walks and a brewery visit are among the options, but more will be added!
As Ghent promises to be very busy in September, we would encourage you to book your accommodation early. After registration, you will receive a list of hotels that offer a discount code for your EGI2026 stay. We support sustainable travel. If feasible, please consider coming by train as Ghent is very easy to reach by train from most major transport hubs in Europe (30′ by train from Brussels Midi). In collaboration with Eurostar, we are happy to offer you a 10% ticket discount if you select this option during registration.
