iMagine and interTwin to Participate in ZENODO HORIZON-ZEN Pilot

iMagine and interTwin joined the pilot programme launched by Zenodo, the catch-all repository run by CERN to support open science in EC-funded projects, in the framework of HORIZON-ZEN.

HORIZON-ZEN will create an EU Open Research Repository and aims to provide the beneficiaries of the European Commission's programmes with improved depositing services for digital research objects that are compliant with Horizon Europe requirements and FAIR-enabling. Additionally, it aims to establish best practices for scientific repositories to lead by example in supporting the implementation of FAIR data principles. To achieve this, Zenodo will be enhanced with FAIR-enabling capabilities to support programme beneficiaries during research output deposition. Zenodo's user experience will be kept simple and seamless.

iMagine and interTwin joined forces with several early adopters from different domains (including BY-COVID, FAIR-IMPACT, FAIRplus, GDI, RESILIENCE, and SERPENTINE) to help provide feedback on the features developed for the new repository. As early adopters, projects will be involved in the design process and provide feedback on concepts developed, with the possibility of having Zenodo support the project's domain specificity. Both iMagine and interTwin have set up communities on Zenodo since the start of the respective projects and keep them updated with project publications, presentations, deliverables, and so on.

In the pilot, iMagine will use this opportunity to improve the existing metadata schema, making it more tailored for describing aquatic science datasets.

interTwin will focus on tracking and displaying project outputs of all kinds (deliverables, presentations and publications) embedded in an awareness campaign aimed at all partners - and investigate the options to embed Zenodo information in the project website.
