Can you explain what CSIC does?

CSIC represents a collaboration of leading Spanish institutions, including the Galician Supercomputing Centre (CESGA), the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV), and the Institute of Physics of Cantabria (IFCA). Together, we advance scientific research across disciplines, providing cutting-edge infrastructure, computational resources, and expertise to support Spain’s role in global scientific innovation.

What is the relationship with EGI?

CSIC serves as the national coordinator for EGI in Spain, fostering local engagement with the European Grid Infrastructure. We actively contribute to EGI initiatives, most notably the InterTwin project, which integrates digital twins and federated computing to accelerate scientific discovery. Our partnership underscores a shared commitment to empowering researchers with scalable, open solutions.

Why do you think it’s important to be at EGI2025?

As the Spanish host of EGI2025, our presence is pivotal. This event unites Europe’s scientific community, offering a platform to showcase Spain’s research capabilities, strengthen collaborations, and align national strategies with EGI’s vision.
