Can you explain what OpenNebula does?

OpenNebula Systems helps organizations build Sovereign AI Factories by turning HPC and GPU infrastructure into production-ready AI clouds. Our open, vendor-neutral platform provides secure multi-tenancy, cloud-like access to AI and HPC resources, and unified management of AI, HPC, and Kubernetes workloads. Optimized for modern AI infrastructures and integrated with a broad technology ecosystem, OpenNebula enables public institutions, research organizations, and enterprises to deploy sovereign AI services quickly while maintaining full control over their data and infrastructure.

What is the relationship with EGI?

While OpenNebula Systems does not currently have a formal relationship with EGI, our platform is used by organizations across the European research and academic ecosystem. Through our work on Sovereign AI Factories, cloud computing, and HPC resource management, we share EGI's commitment to open, interoperable, and sovereign digital infrastructures that empower research and innovation across Europe.

Why do you think it’s important to be at EGI2026?

EGI2026 brings together many of the organizations driving Europe's AI, cloud, and research infrastructure initiatives. For OpenNebula, it is an opportunity to share experiences, learn from the community, and contribute to discussions on building open, interoperable, and sustainable digital infrastructures.

What can people expect when they come to your booth?

At our booth, visitors can explore how to build Sovereign AI Factories that provide cloud-like access to HPC and GPU resources while supporting AI, HPC, and Kubernetes workloads on a unified platform for research and production environments. Our workshop will take a practical look at building and operating AI Factories in hybrid HPC-cloud environments, covering GPUaaS, Kubernetes services, LLM deployment, and real-world integration with existing HPC infrastructures.
