At the recent EGI2025 conference, TANGO contributed by exhibiting two posters showcasing some of the project&#8217;s work.



The first poster, &#8220;A White Paper on Ensuring Data Sovereignty: TANGO Platform Solution for Secure and Trusted Data Flows Across Europe&#8221;, focused on the activities of T8.6 led by EGI, in particular those around the preparation of policy recommendations on the best practices for secure data exchange, distributed infrastructures strengthening European Strategy Forum on Research Infrastructures and the establishment of Data Spaces in accordance with the TANGO Distributed Framework.

The second poster, &#8220;A Secure and Sustainable Platform for Trustworthy Data Sharing in Europe&#8221;, presented a high-level overview of the results and the TANGO platform. TANGO developed a comprehensive platform for secure, trustworthy, and environmentally sustainable data management and sharing. By integrating advanced technologies such as energy-efficient blockchain solutions, privacy-preserving data storage, and AI-driven infrastructure management, TANGO ensures data sovereignty, governance, and provenance for citizens, businesses, and public administrations across Europe. The platform&#8217;s capabilities have been validated across six diverse use cases, including Smart Hospitality, Autonomous Vehicle Transport, Smart Manufacturing, FinTech, Public Administration, and the Retail Sector. Through these efforts, TANGO empowers stakeholders with user-friendly tools for data ownership and control, fostering cross-sector collaboration while addressing environmental challenges.

TANGO Project featured at EGI2025

The TANGO Project has just released a White Paper discussing Distributed Infrastructures, Secure Data Exchange and Data Spaces (and their policies).



This White Paper deeply explores these concepts across three dedicated chapters, providing comprehensive insights and actionable recommendations. The paper aims to clarify the current state of these technologies and propose potential solutions for the TANGO Project.



Following the introduction, the chapters provide a detailed analysis of the following:

<li>Distributed Infrastructures: This section examines the available options, discusses past implementations, and offers recommendations for a robust and scalable distributed infrastructure for the TANGO Project.</li>



<li>Secure Data Exchange: This paper focuses on the security measures and protocols necessary for safe data transfer and highlights the importance of data privacy, integrity, and confidentiality.</li>



<li>Data Spaces: In this chapter, the White Paper explores the concept of data spaces and their role in enabling data sharing and collaboration. It delves into the technical challenges and potential solutions, as well as the policy and regulatory considerations.</li>
</ul>



Key conclusions from the White Paper include:

<li>Distributed Infrastructures: Data Space Connectors are essential for modern data ecosystems. The FIWARE Data Space Connector, for instance, offers a powerful solution for secure and interoperable data exchange.</li>



<li>Secure Data Exchange: By adhering to the recommended security policies and measures, the TANGO Project can establish a robust and secure data exchange infrastructure, safeguarding sensitive information.</li>



<li>Data Spaces: Data spaces are a complex but promising approach to data sharing. The recommended policies and guidelines can help the TANGO Project create a trustworthy and interoperable data space.</li>
</ul>



EGI, leading the task on Policy recommendations on Distributed Infrastructures, Secure Data Exchange and Data Spaces, coordinated the writing and compilation process.
