AI in Science Summit 2025 is the inaugural flagship event launching the Resource for AI Science in Europe (RAISE) initiative of the European Commission.
The two-day event features parallel thematic workshop tracks, each curated by a leading researcher in the field. These explore the impact of AI on the respective scientific discipline (day 1) and how to mobilise investment and policy to realise this potential (day 2).
During AIS25, our colleagues Marco Rorro and Ville Tenhunen will host the demo “AIoD: The European Open Science
Commons for AI”. It will demonstrate AIoD’s full workflow of discovering, contributing, and experimenting with AI resources through the platform’s main components:
- Exploration: Navigating the central portal and community features (news, events, documentation).
- Discovery: Searching and bookmarking datasets, models, or tools in the AI Catalogue.
- Contribution: Uploading new assets (models, datasets, papers) via the Metadata Catalogue.
- Experimentation: Running experiments using Jupyter Notebooks or the RAIL environment, which integrates retrieved AI assets.
- Integration: Showing how external services can connect programmatically to AIoD using the REST API or Python SDK.
The demo’s purpose is to illustrate how AIoD unifies access to AI resources, supports interoperable and reproducible workflows, and provides a hands-on experience of the platform’s value for researchers and innovators.
You will find Marco and Ville in the exhibition area next to poster 71.
AI on-Demand (AIoD Platform) is a collaborative platform that unifies access to AI resources and accelerates research and innovation across disciplines. Funded by the European Union, it provides a trusted space to discover, share, and reuse AI resources including datasets, models, tools, publications, and services. AIoD integrates federated authentication for seamless access, and metadata interoperability across repositories, compute and workflow tools (e.g., RAIL, AI Builder), with a strong focus on governance, FAIR principles, and community engagement.
