CESSDA 50th Anniversary Conference
This year, CESSDA marks a major milestone: half a century of driving open science and open data across the European Research Area and beyond. To celebrate, this anniversary conference in Bergen, Norway, brings together experts to bridge institutional borders, spark cross-disciplinary dialogue, and build stronger data synergies.
The 2026 agenda tackles the most pressing issues in the field, from shaping evidence-based policy and upgrading research infrastructures to growing open science skills and establishing trustworthy data ecosystems.
EGI Foundation at the CESSDA Conference
Our Director, Tiziana Ferrari, will be taking the stage on Wednesday, 17 June, from 11:30 to 13:00 as a featured panelist for Session 2: Data – “FAIR, TRUST, and CARE in the Data Ecosystem for AI.”
The discussion centers on how standards and policy frameworks need to evolve to properly support open data practices and responsible AI within social science research. Specifically, the panel will dive into:
- How can research infrastructures strengthen alignment with global data standards, as well as national policies and roadmaps?
- How do FAIR principles remain relevant in an AI-driven landscape, and what are the key risks and opportunities?
- How can we ensure transparency and trust as data systems become more automated and complex?
