First French Cloud center integrated in the EGI Federated Cloud
The computer engineers of the Institut Pluridisciplinaire Hubert Curien (IPHC) have successfully integrated their local cloud site in the EGI Federated Cloud. This is the first French cloud site to enter production at a European level.
The IPHC is a French research institute, affiliated with the University of Strasbourg and CNRS, dedicated to a multidisciplinary approach to science.
The IPHC cloud was already a member of the federated academic cloud of France Grilles, the National Grid Initiative of France. Now it became the first French cloud site to be integrated in the EGI Federated Cloud.
The EGI Federated Cloud is a seamless grid of academic private clouds and virtualised resources, built around open standards and focusing on the requirements of the scientific community.
France Grilles congratulates Jérôme Pansanel and Sébastien Geiger for the work that enabled the IPHC cloud integration in the EGI Federated Cloud.
