New EGI use case: a close look at the Amatrice earthquake
In this use case, we tell how Federica Magnoni, a post-doctoral researcher at the Italian National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology, and her team of seismologists used the EGI Federated Cloud to analyse the August 2016 Amatrice earthquake.
The team used the VERCE platform to visualize animations of the wave propagation generated by the earthquake in that region and gained useful insights on reconstructing hazard scenarios. [read the full story…]
