Access Climate Risk Research Services through the IRISCC Service Catalogue and Open Call

The IRISCC (Integrated Research Infrastructure Services for Climate Change Risks) project has officially launched its Catalogue of Services and First Open Call for Transnational and Virtual Access, supporting cutting-edge research into climate-related challenges.

Funded by the European Union, IRISCC enables eligible users across Europe to apply for sponsored access to a wide array of scientific services and research facilities—either physically, virtually, remotely or in hybrid mode.

What’s Offered through the IRISCC Open Call?

  • Access to Europe's top research infrastructures in climate risk science
  • Support for transdisciplinary research projects
  • Travel & subsistence support (up to €2000 per proposal)
  • Opportunities for collaboration with leading RI operators and experts

This call targets researchers, policymakers, industry, and others working on climate risk-related topics. It is a unique opportunity to leverage advanced infrastructure and expertise for scientific progress.

EGI's Role in IRISCC

While the EGI Foundation does not directly offer Virtual Access services through this IRISCC call, we are a key contributor to the project:

  • Leading communication, dissemination, engagement, and innovation efforts (WP1)
  • Supporting user training and capacity building, including FitSM training and access to EGI’s training platforms (WP3)
  • Contributing to service interoperability, federated identity (AAI) integration, and FAIR data frameworks (WP6)
  • Supporting the usability and development of the IRISCC Service Catalogue (WP7)

Looking for Digital Services? Apply through the EGI Access Call

For researchers needing compute, data services, training, or support, the EGI Access Call remains open. It provides free, sponsored access to digital infrastructure that can complement the virtual services offered through IRISCC.
