EGI Communications Experts Contribute to ITINERIS Training Course

EGI Foundation communications specialists Gwen Franck and Federico Drago joined experts from LifeWatch ERIC as trainers for the ITINERIS course "Mastering Communications in RIs: From Strategy to Implementation."
Hosted at the University of Salento in Lecce, this four-day training provided communication professionals from Italian research infrastructures (RIs) with practical knowledge for working within pan-European collaborations and Horizon Europe projects.
Course Focus
The training equipped participants from key environmental RIs (including ACTRIS, Euro-Argo, and CNR institutes) with essential skills:
- Developing communication strategies aligned with RI objectives
- Implementing plans through websites, events, and analytics
- Managing Horizon Europe project communication from proposal to reporting
- Tracking impact through platform metrics and web analytics
Our Contribution
The two EGI representatives joined as subject matter experts:
- Gwen Franck led sessions on event management, sharing operational frameworks for scientific conferences and stakeholder workshops
- Federico Drago addressed Horizon Europe communication requirements, including EC platform reporting and dissemination tracking
Participants actively engaged in hands-on exercises, including simulations of the EC Funding & Tenders Portal and event crisis scenarios.
