EGI Foundation moves office!

During the last week of August, the EGI Foundation moved forward (or, more accurately, downward)! After 14 years on the 3rd floor, we moved our Science Park head office one floor down.

The new office space offers an open space with a newly redesigned layout with state of the art facilities that suits very well the needs of staff at EGI Foundation. Over the last years, work habits have changed at EGI: with a majority of staff now working remotely, it just makes sense for us to move to a new set up, taking up less space but allowing a more direct contact between individuals and teams during office days.

Moving the office that we inhabited for more than 20 year took some preparation time. Not only did we have to make the puzzle of fitting all Netherlands-based employees into the new, open-plan offices, we also had to clean up ‘archive’ of paperwork, print materials, event goodies and tech materials. All staff were involved with selecting what needed a physical copy - and what could move to our digital spaces.

The new office space is well integrated with all SURF facilities and will also provide more opportunities to socialise and interact with our valued SURF colleagues. Thanks to the SURF management and all the staff who have been supporting us during this transition.

All colleagues from the EGI community: come and see us for tea and coffee, or even a lunch. Because one thing will not change: with our our international set up, we always end up with a varied (and passionately discussed) lunch, with staff sharing dishes from all corners of Europe (and beyond!).
