We are thrilled to announce that the <a href="https://www.egi.eu/federation/">EGI Federation</a> reached 1,000,000 cores of <a href="https://www.egi.eu/services/high-throughput-compute/">High-Throughput Compute</a> capacity, meeting a milestone that marks over 15 years of exponential growth.
This is thanks to the collaborative work of the <a href="https://www.egi.eu/federation/data-centres/">EGI data sites</a> that put together their services and resources for the benefit of science and innovation. Now they are offering more than 1,000,000 cores to support research at all scales, from individuals to small research groups and large collaborations.
<a href="https://www.egi.eu/about/egi-foundation/team/alessandro-paolini/">Alessandro Paolini</a>, Operations Officer at the EGI Foundation, says: &#8220;I&#8217;ve been monitoring the numbers for a long time and I&#8217;ve been looking forward to this day! Then in January 2019 it was really nice to see this number coming up. 1 million cores stand for EGI’s greatness in delivering excellent services for research and I think this is an outstanding breakthrough.&#8221;
