Can you explain what your organisation does?

GÉANT is Europe’s leading collaboration on network and related infrastructure and services for the benefit of research and education, contributing to Europe’s economic growth and competitiveness. The organisation develops, delivers, and promotes advanced network and associated e-infrastructure services, and supports innovation and knowledge-sharing amongst its members, partners, and the wider research and education networking community.

What is the relationship with EGI?

GÉANT is a member of the European e-Infrastructures Assembly, the collaboration between leading e-Infrastructures EGI, EUDAT, GÉANT, OpenAIRE and PRACE. By combining our strengths and expertise and harmonising our efforts, we jointly advance and empower European research, education, and innovation. 

Why is it important to be at EGI2026?

We continue our joint communications activities as part of the European e-Infrastructures Assembly to raise visibility and acknowledgement of the fundamental role of our organisations in IT for research and to highlight our collective impact, both at a national and pan-European level.

What can people expect when visiting your booth or attending your workshops?

Attendees can meet us at the e-Infrastructures booth to hear how GÉANT works with its National Research and Education (NRENs) members and with the European Commission to provide and advance digital infrastructure and services required to accelerate research, education, and innovation for a secure and competitive Europe. As part of the European e-Infrastructures Assembly, we will also highlight our collaboration with leading e-Infrastructures EGI, EUDAT, OpenAIRE and PRACE and the value of our combined expertise, service portfolios, activities, and impact on European research.
